Winners of the Norwegian Folk Music Awards
The Norwegian Folk Music Awards was held at the Nordic music industry convention Folkelarm this weekend, and four winners of the different categories could bring home their awards for best albums of the year.

Solo Album
Ingvill Marit and Per Anders Buen Garnås won the Norwegian Folk Music Awards for best Solo Album: "Salme, segn og solbøn".
Traditional Ensemble Album
Unni Boksasp Ensemble won the Norwegian Folk Music Awards for best Traditional Ensemble Album: "Keramello".Documentation:
The Norwegian Folk- and Popular Song Archives won the Norwegian Folk Music Awards for best Documentation Album: "Norske Ballader". The Album is a compilation of old traditional ballads sung by some of the foremost folk singers on the Folk Music Scene today. The album is released on the label Grappa.
Open Class:
Sigrid Moldestad won the Norwegian Folk Music Awards for best album in the open class category, the category with by far most nominees. Her album "Sandkorn" is a release containing both new and traditional folk music with Sigrid's voice and fiddle as the leading element.Sigrid Moldestad also won the highly prestigious Folk Musician of the year award, which she received from Norwegian Minister of Culture Anniken Huitfeldt at the opening of the brand new venue for Folk Music in Oslo, Riksscenen.
