Sver translates as large and great - sturdy and powerful. The music is characterized by a high energy level, tight interplay and creative, contemporary arrangements that lends the Norwegian folk music to a new and exciting form of expression. Sver is a veritable Norwegian folk music's "power band", with a rhythmic drive and vital on-stage presence that is nothing less than riveting! On stage, Sver is a live experience that will bring smiles to most people’s faces, bustling with joy, speed and humor and packed with musical surprises from start to finish.

The group has its foundation in traditional folk music from the Røros area, but influences from the styles of Hallingdal and Hardanger are also brought in. Much of Sver’s repertoire is also devoted to their own compositions.
