Folkelarm brings international music industry delegates from over 20 different countries to Oslo in late September every year. In collaboration with Music Information Centre Norway (MIC) and Folkelarm, the Norwegian Traditional Music Agency used the opportunity to present 5 of the Norwegian artists that are to play at Showcase Scotland in 2010.

All international Folkelarm delegates got invited to an informal and entertaining event that featured a trip with one of Oslo’s antique trams, a guided tour of the city’s Torshov/Sagene districts and a delicious lunch at splendid Sagene Lunchbar.

The tram trip, which included a performance by Hardanger Fiddle player Synnøve Bjørset, brought the delegation to the Torshov city district (home of Folkelarm’s main venue Soria Moria) and a guided tour of the historically rich area. In addition to Bjørset, musical interludes were provided by artists Valkyrien Allstars, Majorstuen, Gjermund Larsen Trio and Unni Boksasp.

The gathering of international delegates puts forward a significant opportunity for the Norwegian artists to present their music to passionate and enthusiastic spectators, eager to discover new music.
