Ragnhild Furebotten and Tore Bruvoll stand behind the band and album Hekla Stålstrenga. They met for the first time in 1995 and have collaborated much since, after many cds with other artists the time was ripe to make an album together. They collected a dream team of musicians and the result was Hekla Stålstrenga which was nominated for a Spelemannspris in 2008. The duo are strongly inspired by northern Norwegian folk music and have taken in use both vocal and instrumental material from the northerly part of the country which is then blended with their own compositions and their own strong signature added. Their concerts are an explosion of charisma, energy, feeling and humour, and they manage to bring this apparently out of date musical tradition into the present. The band behind Hekla Stålstrenga is Ragnhild Furebotten (fiddle), Tore Bruvoll (guitar), Trond Viggo Solås (bass), Anne Nymo Trulsen (vocal) and Ole Jakob Larsen (drums).
