AskerLadden has performed at festivals in the USA, Ireland and the Nordic countries. The members of the group are Asle Tronrud on Hardanger fiddle, Ingunn Bjørgo, Olav Tronrud and Stian Aase on accordion, Åsmund Bakken on guitar, and Bjørn Kise on bass. The band’s repertoire consists mainly of self-composed music and traditional runddans tunes. The members of the band enjoy telling good stories in connection with their tunes. They have taken part in music competitions, and their greatest success so far was in 2003, when they were finalists in a Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) television contest, “Kappspell”. They have also done well in various Norwegian championship competitions. AskerLadden held a showcase concert at Folkelarm (the Norwegian Folk Music Awards) in 2005. In the same year they also appeared on German television along with well-known Norwegian artist Wenche Myhre. Several of the group’s tunes have been found at first place on the NRK Top-Eight list, and their tune Usving has been very popular on both local and national radio.
