Diom De Kossa with new CD:
Baba Toulenga - in my father's shadow
As a child he picked coffee beans in the rainforest in the north of Ivory Coast. Today he is a drum master from Holmlia in Oslo, with a musical career spanning from playing in bands with Robert Burås and Mory Kante to establishing his own band Touba Orchestra. Now they are releasing the album "Baba Toulenga - in my father's shadow".

Nordsjøfestivalen in Farsund
Nordsjøfestivalen i Farsund is an international musicfestival which focuses on the traditional music found around The North Sea, starting 26th of August. Headliners at the festival include American bluegrass master Bruce Molsky, Swedish supertrio Väsen and Norway´s own master fiddler Annbjørg Lien.

Counting down to Folkelarm!
9th - 11th of September a number of soloists and bands from the Nordic Folk Music Scene gather up at the brand new concert venue Riksscenen in Oslo to participate at Folkelarm. They will be joined by delegates from the Nordic countries, from other European countries including the US and Canada.
Traditional Music in North Norway:
Festival Kalottspel starts this weekend
Kalottspel is a folk music and dance festival which takes place in Målselv in the county of Troms. The festival builds on long and rich traditions in the area and was first set up in 1970. This year, Tinda, Valkyrien Allstars, Nordic and Ragnhild Furebotten are some of the artists who will perform at the festival, which starts August 10th.
International culture festival in Oslo:
Mela coming up!
Mela is again coming to town! This year's event takes place at Rådhusplassen (City Hall Square) from Friday 6. to Sunday 8. August. The festival is considered to be one of the biggest international celebration of culture and creativity in Norway, with artists from more than twenty countries performing with their bands, alone or together. The diversity of the Oslo Mela event makes it ideally suited to people of all ages, backgrounds and cultures.

The sparkling Norwegian duo Sudan Dudan are finally ready to release their follow-up of the previous success recording Sudan Dudan. Their new album is a compilation of old songs dressed in a mix of Norwegian and Anglo American folk traditions. This is singer songwriter music from the valleys of Norway!

Festival Sounds of the North in Gdansk
In 2010 Sounds of the North is dedicated to Norway. During the whole week in the middle of summer Gdańsk will be a meeting place with Norwegian culture and musical tradition. Because of the great care for saving and creative interpretation of their tradition, Norwegians can be proud of many original folk bands and well educated musicians.
